Give Campaign 2015

Every year Microsoft hosts a “give campaign” that last the entire month of October.  During this time members around the company can work with their Admin team to create unique posters to help broadcast the message of giving and caring throughout the halls of the Microsoft campus.
Here is a view of what I brought to the table in 2015.

He gave, have you?

Inspired by the Halo franchise.  This poster was targeted to bring in the vibe of early Americana propaganda (with the statement), while also mixing in retro 32-bit design for the master chief helmet.

This would be a poster that made its way around the Microsoft campus and personally one of my favorite ones to work on.

//give

A big characteristic of the October give campaign is that you can fund any charity you want and Microsoft with match your donation.  This makes things more unique since there is not a true “theme” besides “charity”, “donation”, or “give back”.

With this in mind I worked on a piece that would properly represent all the different things you as an individual could donate to.  Aiming to show that giving has impact on many different people and organizations, whether their focus is food or sustainability the key thing is to give back.

The design focused on the individual with a standard heart to reflect caring for many different agencies and movements.

The design focused on uniting the individual with Microsoft, since it is not just that you give but also that Microsoft will match what you give.  Making the individuals impact twice as large!

Touch a life, give

A big campaign I care about and support is breast cancer research and awareness. It is something that has affected my family personally as well as a big concern in our nation/globe.

This design aimed to take that theme and focus on it with a pink ribbon.  I also incorporated a heart to help offset the standard ribbon design and sort of imbue it with a larger sense of caring.

Touch a heart, give

This view was aimed at the idea of giving yourself or putting yourself into something your care about.  Unfortunately the connotations also seemed to be a bit off with a hand holding a heart.

I included this image because it shows a bit more depth in themes and thought process and at times what you think may be a great idea inevitably may come off a bit weird.
